Herman Miller Made This Side Table With Trees Taken From Designer’s House

The Eames Eucalyptus LTR Table was crafted from the eucalyptus trees surrounding the Eames House, the home of Charles and Ray Eames who designed the table.

How fitting the trees that once shaded their home are now being utilized in one of their most accessible designs.

As part of ongoing conservation efforts for the Eames House, several eucalyptus trees were harvested in 2018. Herman Miller and Vitra (Herman Miller’s licensee in Europe), in partnership with the Eames Foundation, in an effort to extend the longevity of these beautiful trees, worked to create something inventive that Charles and Ray would have appreciated.

The table has wire rod base, originally designed in 1950, uses the same wire technique as the original. The table measures 10″ tall x 15.5″ wide x 13.25″ deep.

It comes with a 5-year warranty. It is now available for $795 at Herman Miller Store.
